Holy Trinity
Holmfirth
Set in the heart of the picturesque and vibrant market town of Holmfirth, Holy Trinity Church offers visitors a space for some quiet time and prayer.
In recent years our congregation has worshipped together with St John’s Upperthong, and we offer a range of communion services, from traditional to celtic and contemplative, both on Sundays and midweek.
Our Common Worship Holy Communion services take place at 10.00am on the 1st Sunday of each month and at 9.00am on the 3rd Sunday of each month, with traditional hymns played on the organ. Alternate Sundays we meet at 11.00am at St John’s Church in Upperthong.
On the 2nd Sunday of each month at 5.00pm we invite the curious, the seeker and those simply searching for some peace, to join us for our Contemplative Communion service.
Each Wednesday at 12noon all are welcome to come and spend some gentle quiet time away from the busyness of the world at our Celtic Holy Communion.
Our beautiful Georgian building sits in a busy courtyard, bordered by Beatties cafe and Sid’s cafe, once made famous by the long running BBC sitcom ‘Last of the Summer Wine’.
During the summer months our church is open for visitors on Fridays, Saturdays and Bank holidays, to find peace and browse our second hand book sale. We also host an art exhibition during Holmfirth Artweek and take part in National Churches Trust Heritage Open Days.
We have an active branch of Mothers’ Union including members from other churches. Ongoing local projects include supplying emergency toilet bags for use at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and items for women and children using the Huddersfield Refuge.
